JENNER, Bruce (1949- ) Former American Olympic champion of track & field. He came to international attention as a decathlete winning the gold medal in the men’s decathlon event during the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal where he set a world record which held until 1980. He holds the un-official title of “world’s greatest athlete” for the Olympic Decathlon win. Jenner became an American hero winning an event back from the Soviet Union during the cold war. He was enshrined on the Wheaties box. Bruce Jenner had some success in film and television. He lost the role of Superman to Christopher Reeve. He also had some success with an auto racing career and as a businessman with Bruce Jenner Aviation. Jenner was married three time, the last to Kris Kardashian which lasted 23 years. They divorced in 2015 when Jenner came out as a trans-woman. In April 2015 Jenner appeared on a 20/20 interview as a trans-woman under the name of Caitlyn Jenner. Now a declared “woman” she appeared on the front cover of Vanity Fair. In 2014, Bruce Jenner was said to be worth 100 million dollars.
