Vellum document 8.5”x15.5” signed by Jefferson as President and James Madison as Secretary of State, Washington, 26 August 1806. Pursuance of the act of Congress, passed on the first day of June 1796, entitled “An Act regulating the grants of land appropriated for military services.......................There is granted unto Jacob Hathaway, Abraham Hathaway and Shadrick Hathaway dec. who was a soldier in the late Army of the United States, One Hundred Acres.” President Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States of America, hath caused the seal of the United States to be hereunto affixed...” Overall, the document is in V/G condition, Seal of the United States is V/G and complete, normal folds, writing light but readable Signatures of Jefferson and Madison darker and easily read. On the verso is an ink map of the 100 acres granted just off the Muskingum River in South Eastern, Ohio.................$8950.00
