JACKSON, Mahalia (1911-1972). Noted Gospel singer and recording star since 1934. Eight of her records sold over 1 million copies. She sang on the radio during the 1950’s and performed at Carnegie Hall. She sang at the inauguration of John F. Kennedy 91961). She was closely associate with the Civil Rights Movement. Photograph, B&W, measures 7.5”x9.5”, head and shoulders pose, singing. Very boldly signed with a huge signature. Excellent contrast and in fine condition.
