A Very Scarce Autograph Forger’s Autograph
HOFMANN, Mark (1954-Â Â ) American counterfeiter, forger and convicted murderer. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished forgers of historical documents and signatures in history. Convicted in 1987 of murdering two people from the Mormon community in a pipe bomb attack. The next day he was nearly killed by another one of the bombs which accidentally exploded in his car. His preliminary hearing lasted five weeks, the longest in Utah’s history. He is presently serving a life sentence in prison. Hofmann fooled many prominent autograph dealers including Charles Hamilton and Christies Auction House. Mark Hoffman’s business card as an autograph dealer selling Mormon Autographs. Signed M.W. Hoffman on the verso. Along with a color mug shot portrait 4.5”x7” and an eight-page story from a magazine on Mark Hoffmann. In conclusion we add a hard bound copy of ‘Salamander’ The Story of the Mormon Forgery Murders. Signatures of Hofmann are quite scarce as he does not answer his mail.
