HIBEL, Edna (1919-2014). American painter known for her impressionistic landscapes and Mother of Children series. Inspired by Mary Cassatt and Renior. In 1940 she was the youngest artist at the time honored by a major American museum. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious museums, galleries and palaces around the world. Edna Hibel Christmas plate for 1985. Created in layers of pigment and gold. Message printed on the verso by Hibel states this is the angel of children. Plate 31170E. Hand signed “in person” on the front of the plate using a black ink Sharpie pen. A very attractive plate in excellent condition.........$87.50
