HIBEL, Edna (1919-2014). American painter known for her impressionistic landscapes and Mother of Children series. Inspired by Mary Cassatt and Renoir. In 1940 she was the youngest artist at the time honored by a major American museum. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious museums, galleries and palaces around the world. Beautiful colorful original serigraph, measures appx. 15’’X20.’’ Title “Umbria Garden” copy #1 of 188 copies. Signed “Hibel” in pencil on the lower right portion on the serigraph. On the lower white margin written in pencil: “To President George Bush – The most distinguished member of the Hibel Society. With Love Edna Hibel.” Together with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Hibel Society. Edna Hibel has inscribed the certificate in ink: “To President George Bush the most distinguished member of the Hibel Society with Best Wishes for a joyous life with Love Edna Hibel.” This serigraph was produced in 1993 the last year of Bush’s presidency.
