Autograph letter signed, one full page on her name imprinted letterhead. “Dear Robert Orth (President of Mid-American Film Archive Ltd). “How pretty! What a nice surprise- Many, many thanks for the good thoughts, Katharine Hepburn”. This letter is in response to a birthday gift of flowers. In 1921, Katharine discovered her older brother dead, hanging from the ceiling of his room. For quite some time she adopted Tom’s birthday, November 8, as her own.
