HARRISON, Benjamin (1833-1901). Twenty third President of the United States (1889-March 3, 1893). Engraved vignette of the Executive Mansion, Washington (first introduced by Chester A. Arthur). This card depicts a view of the south portico of the Executive Mansion. Very boldly signed and dated in his hand “March 1st 1893.” In very fine condition. Quite scarce in this condition and signed just two days before leaving office. Harrison rarely dated these cards and most likely did so because he was getting ready to leave his home of four years. Most collectors of the standard signed Executive Mansion cards, if lucky, have one of these cards in their collection. Harrison is considered the fourth rarest Executive Mansion card to be found signed.by a nineteenth century president. This is a very impressive example..........SOLD
