GRUENBAUM, Yitzchak (1879-1970). Signer of the Israeli Scroll of Independence. He was not present for the official ceremony as he was in Jerusalem where the city was under siege. He studied medicine. Treasurer of the Jewish Agency. After the founding of the State of Israel, he was responsible for organizing the country’s first election. Israeli First day cover with a color cachet on the left and five Israeli stamps affixed to the cover cancelled Sept. 26, 1949. Signed in Hebrew by Yitzchak Gruenbaum.
