Formed “The Authentic Revolutionary Party” (1934)
GRAU, Ramon (1887-1969). Cuban physician, professor of Medicine at the University of Havana. Appointed Provisional President of Cuba. Held that office from Sept. 10, 1933 until 15 January 1934. From the balcony of the Presidential Palace he took his Oath of Office in front of thousands of people however the government lasted only 100 days. He was a Cuban revolutionary leader who formed The Authentic Cuban Revolutionary Party in 1934. He was elected President of Cuba in 1944 and held that office until 1948. Very scarce photograph, 8”x10”, B&W, full face portrait smiling. Photo by Lorens. Inscribed using white ink along with a nice sentiment, signed and dated in 1945.
