JEWELL, (Marshall) Postmaster General, forced to resign. DELANO, Columbus Secretary of the Interior, forced to resign. FISH, Hamilton Secretary of State BABCOCK, O.E. Aide-de-Camp General Grant. Grant’s Presidential Secretary, involved in the Whiskey Ring Scandal, indited by a Grand Jury. Drowned in 1884. ZALINSKI, E.L. Soldier and the noted inventor of the Ramrod Bayonet and pneumatic dynamite torpedo gun. Program, 3”x5” for the Grand Ball, Closing The Centennial Celebration at Lexington, Monday Evening, April 10th 1875. Promenade Music by Brown’s Brigade Band and Dancing Music by The Germania Orchestra. Eight pages, includes the Program, Musical Selections, Order of Dances, Reception Committee, Floor Committee and sixty members of the Honorary Committee. In the center of this Program, the eight men listed above have signed their names in pencil with Grant signing as President. Grant was considered an effective Civil Rights president. It was during this time blacks had access to public facilities. Grant signed a law, the Civil Rights Act of 1875. Years later in 1883 the Supreme Court ruled the law unconstitutional.
