GETTY, John Paul (1892-1976). American billionaire, oil magnate, Getty acquired numerous oil companies forming Getty Oil in 1967. He was a major art collector. His book: “Collector’s Choice, The Chronicle of an Artistic Odyssey Through Europe”. W.H. Allen, London, January 1956. Three hundred sixty pages, illustrated. Inscribed, signed and dated on the title page: “To Heinz Biel, with best wishes from J.Paul Getty, London, Mar. 19, 1960”.
