GALLI-CURCI, Amelia (1882-1963). Italian soprano. One of opera’s most famous coloratura singers. She had a sensational debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor in 1916. She had 20 curtain calls. She took Enrico Caruso’s place on gala opening nights until the 1929-30 season.
