GALLAND, Adolf (1912-1996). German Luftwaffe General, Flying Ace who flew 705 combat missions and had 104 victories. On four occasions he survived being shot down. Chosen to Command Germany’s Fighter Force. In 1942 he was awarded Diamond’s to his Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Typed letter signed, one full page on his name/address imprinted letterhead. June 30, 1970. Galland writes in part: “.....furthermore I add for your collection another photo of mine showing me during WWII. On that occasion, I would like to correct the text below the picture sent to me for signature. In the left corner of the picture the Luftwaffe Ace isn’t Lt. Hermann Friedrich Joppin, but First Lt. Gerhard Schopfel. A present he is living in the following address...” Galland continues: “...as correctly mentioned in the right corner the picture shows Lt. Joachim Muncheberg, who died in combat over Africa...” Very boldly signed with a full signature of Adolf Galland......................... $125.00
