A rare space related inscription by Gagarin
GAGARIN, Yuri (1934-1968). The first human to enter space as a space traveler. Cosmonaut Gagarin flew into space on April 12, 1961, at a speed of 17,000 mph lasting one hour and forty-eight minutes in his Vostok space craft. This hero of the Soviet Union was killed during a training mission six years after his historic flight. He was only 34 years old. Original photograph of two adorable young Russian boys, 3.5”x5.5”. On the verso the name of the town and date are written by a collector, “Stroitel, Oct. 29, 1964.” Gagarin has written on the verso: “To future Cosmonauts Y. Gagarin.” Light discoloration on verso otherwise in very good condition. Every little boy in Russia dreamed to be a Cosmonaut. A wonderful and rare space related inscription. $1,350.00
