GACY, John Wayne (1942-May 10, 1994). American serial killer who is also known as the “Killer Clown.” He was convicted of sexual assault and murder of at least 33 teenage boys and young men. The killings took place between 1972 and 1978, in the Chicago area. Twenty-six of Gacy’s victims were buried in a crawl space under his home. Three others were buried on his property and the last four were dumped in the Des Plains River. Gacy was convicted of the 33 murders and sentenced to death for 12 of them. He spent 14 years on death row before being executed by lethal injection. Typed letter signed on his desirable prison letterhead, John Wayne Gacy NOO924 Execute Justice...Not... People!!! Dated November 10, 1991. He writes in part: “ ...so you have Patches the Clown, what is the number on the back? That way I can confirm that its registered to you. I no longer am allowed to sell my paintings from the prison so now my buddy....However in requesting the photos I would be the one to have them...any money that comes to me direct has to be given as a gift, the that’s the way to send it either 3 $50 money orders or a cashier check for $150.00 ...Just don’t mention the photos, unless in a round about way,,,,By the way the photos now go for $35, but since you want six of them we will leave it the way you quoted it......Regards, John.” A full length, color clown sticker, is affixed to this page next to Gacy’s signature. In fine condition along with the original envelope...........................$350.00
