GACY, John Wayne. (1942-1994). Convicted for the rape and murder of 33 boys between 1972 and 1978. Twenty-seven of his victims were buried in a crawl space under the floor of his home. Best known as “The Killer Clown.” His registered clown costumes are “Patches” and “Pogo.” He is also known for his statement saying he was only guilty of running a cemetery without a license. His execution was without question a media sensation. Papers regarding the sale of Gacy’s famous typewriter. Letter to a collector describing how important the typewriter was for him. He typed his legal work on this typewriter and wrote his book “A Question of Doubt.” Included is a copy of his Contract of residential Personal Property describing the typewriter. Also included is an original Poloroid camera color photograph where on the margin Gacy has signed his name and added: “John W. Gacy Sears Forecast 12 Typewriter.” We purchased this typewriter and sold it to the Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington, D.C. Included is a color photograph of this typewriter on display in the museum. Last item is a color photograph of Steve Koschal and John Walsh after walking the Red Carpet during the opening of the museum.
