FRELENG, Friz (1906-1995). American animator, cartoonist, director and producer. Famous for his works in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies. He introduced and developed several of Warner Brothers biggest stars, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam and Speedy Gonzales. Freleng won 4 Academy Awards. After 1963 his new company produced The Pink Panther Show that ran through the 80’s.
Marvelous two volume set of books, boxed. Animation: The Art of Friz Freleng, Donovan Publishers, 1994. Vol.#1, 240 pages, illustrates pictures and stories about the life of Friz Freleng in animation. The spine is in leather and this is copy #379/4000 copies signed by Friz Freleng on a page which contains a hologram of the Warner Brothers characters. Second volume also with a leather spine contains a VHS and tape cassette. Both volumes are contained in a protective leather bound slipcase.
