Francisco (1892-1975). Generalísimo
Francisco Franco, was the Head of State of Spain in parts of
the country from 1936 and in its entirety from 1939 until his
death in 1975. During the Civil War he received aid from Nazis
and Mussolini. He presided over the government of the Spain following
victory in the Spanish Civil War. From 1947, he was de facto
"regent" of Spain.
