FOX, Fontaine (1884-1964). American cartoonist, his “Toonerville Folks” was a very popular cartoon strip that ran from 1908 to 1955. The Toonerville characters acted as spokesmen for Drano, Kellogg’s and Chef Boyardee. Original color drawings of people at the beach on a topical island with the main character enlarged by a magnifying glass. This was drawn on the back of a 2 cent postcard and sent to a collector in Connecticut as a Christmas greeting for 1957. Most unusual................$175.00
