FEREBEE, Tom (1918-2000) Bombardier aboard the B-29 Super fortress Enola Gay. He released the 9,000 pound atomic bomb (Little Boy) over Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945. His Holiday Greeting card (1996) depicts an embossed gold Christmas Wreath on the cover. On the inside panel Ferebee has written a very scarce lengthy autograph letter, in part: “Dear Steve & Lynn, I received your check & should have written or called before, however I have been rather busy. Paul, Dutch & I met in Phoenix last month for autographing and had three real busy days at three galleries. We had a lot of fun but I was worn out when I got home the winter germ caught me & I’ve been rather sick for three weeks, no golf. We have often talked about your visit and Mary Ann really enjoyed meeting & talking with Lynn. I talked to Dutch about signing your painting and he will gladly do it, and he expects to be in Atlanta next Spring. His wife had a stroke two years ago and is not doing so will. If you decide you would like to have the neg. of the A/C photos I would be glad to send them to you. You are the only one I trust with them. We wish both of you a great Xmas.” On the third panel under the Season’s Greetings Tom has signed: “Tom & Mary Ann Ferebee”. In fine condition.
