FAYE, Alice (1915-1998). American actress, singer. Musical star with 20th Century Fox in the 30’s and 40’s. Called the best female singer in Hollywood by George Gershwin and Cole Porter. Winner of the Academy Award (1943) for Best Original Song. Nominated for two other Academy Awards for Best Original Songs and she introduced 23 songs to the Hit Parade. Very attractive close-up full face B&W photograph, measuring 7.5”x9” inscribed and signed in dark green ink: “To Vernon-Best wishes Alice Faye.” Mounting traces along the sides of the verso causing some rippling on the front of the photo, otherwise in very good condition.....................$85.00
