EASTMAN, George (1854-1932). American inventor. Inventor of the camera that bears his name. Invented and patented a machine for coating the glass plates used in cameras. Perfected flexible roll films and designed the roll holder for winding them. He had a dollar camera on the market by 1900 making it possible for Americans to become amateur photographers.
