DOBY, Larry (1923-2003) American professional baseball player. Played in the Negro Leagues and in Major League Baseball. He was the second black player to break the Baseball’s color barrier and he was the first black player to play in the American League. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. Attractive FDC commemorating Jackie Robinson.
