Creator of Ellery Queen DANNAY, Frederic (1905-1982). American author, co-author of more than 35 Ellery Queen detective novels. Creator of Ellery Queen. Ellery Queen was a fictional character and pseudonym used by Dannay. He sold more than 100 million books worldwide.  Interesting autograph letter signed on a approx. 4”x5” card. Feb.5, 1975, he writes “Dear Danny, Of course Ellery is my favorite! – with the Inspector!
