CUNNINGHAM, Randy “Duke” (1941- ). USN pilot, retired as Commander, Republican politician and a convicted felon. First American Ace in the Viet Nam War (5 victories). First to make kills with missiles. Went to Congress as a hero, left in 2005 as a disgraced felon. Brent Wilkes a defense contractor gave Cunningham $700,000 in perks including a submachine gun shooting lessons and the services of prostitutes. In return Wilkes got $87 million dollars in pentagon contracts. At the time Cunningham received the longest prison sentence (8 years for taking bribes) ever given to a member of Congress.
