Father of Winston Churchill
CHURCHILL. Lord Randolph S. (1849-1895. Politician, influential figure in the Conservative Party in England. Leader in the House of Commons and Chancellor of the Exchequer (1886). He died at a young age, slowly and painfully. Portion of an autograph letter signed, 2 pages, to His Royal Highness, The Duke of Cambridge (George William Frederick Charles, Grandson of George III). Churchill writes: “Enclosed, extract from a letter to me from the Governor of Bombay, on the army of India. Of course the writer is only a civilian... I hope your Royal Highness will not trouble either to answer this letter or to return the enclosures. I have the honor to be Your Royal Highnesses Faithfull Servant, Randolph S.
