- Charles MANSON (b. 1934). American criminal
who led what became known as the Manson family. He is known as
the "icon of evil." Charged and convicted of murder
and conspiracy. Sentenced to death but that was automatically
commuted to life imprisonment by a 1972 court decision eliminating
the death penalty in California.
Legal size envelope addressed by Manson to noted collector of
undesirables Nick Bougas. Affixed to the envelope is a 22 cent
U.S. Constitution stamp, cancelled North Bay, Ca, 15 December
1987. Charles Manson has signed his name in the upper left corner
adding a swastika through his signature. He has also written
his prison number and return address. All of Manson’s writing
is dark and bold. SOLD
