CHAPLIN, Charles (1889-1977) Chaplin was an English comic actor and composer who rose to fame in the silent film era. He became one of the film industry’s most important figures. He is considered one of the greatest film makers in the history of American cinema. Adolf Hitler was impressed by Chaplin and grew the Chaplin moustache. Chaplin’s body was stolen by grave robbers. CHAPLIN, Lita Grey (1908-19950.American actress and second wife of Charlie Chaplin. She met Chaplin at the age of eight and worked with him while at the age of twelve At the age of fifteen she met Charles Chaplin again and got the part as the leading lady in his film “The Gold Rush.” She began an affair with thee 35-year-old Chaplin and soon became pregnant. To avoid a scandal, because of her age, they got married in Mexico. They divorced in 1927 and Chaplin was ordered to pay the largest divorce settlement of the time.
