CHAPLIN, Charles (1889-1977) and COOGAN, Jackie (1914-1984) Chaplin was an English comic actor and composer who rose to fame in the silent film era. He became one of the film industry’s most important figures. He is considered one of the greatest film makers in the history of American cinema. Adolf Hitler was impressed by Chaplin and grew the Chaplin moustache. Chaplin’s body was stolen by grave robbers.
