CHAMBERLIN, Clarence (1893-1976). American aviation pioneer, second man to fly a fixed wing aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean while carrying the first transatlantic passenger. He was an early barnstormer. He took off the vessel Leviathan on August 1, 1927, and delivered the first ship to shore mail. First Day Cover commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Fort Bliss.
