CATT, Carrie Chapman (1859-1947). American feminist, suffragette, and reformer. She succeeded Susan B. Anthony as the President of the National American Woman Suffrage Association (1900-1904). She organized the International Woman Suffrage Alliance in 1902, serving as president (1902-1923). Catt also organized and founded the League of Woman Voters (1919) and served as its honorary president until her death. Closing of an autograph letter unusually signed in full with using her husband’s last name (Chapman)..
