GARY, Carlton Michael (1952-2018). American serial killer during the late 70’s. Known as the “Stocking Strangler” and “Granny Killer.” Arrested in 1978 for armed robbery and sentenced to 21 years in prison. He escaped in 1983 but caught a year later. Evidence was found linking him to earlier murders. He was convicted of raping and murdering 7 elderly women with their own stockings. Gary had a genius IQ. Gary was sentenced to death in 1986. On March 15, 2018 he was executed by lethal injection.
Offered is a huge collection of handwritten letters, paintings, drawings, handmade knitted dolls, legal documents, etc, Most everything is written to his girl friend who later in the correspondence became his wife. Included are approximately 258 letters totaling about 794 pages. He signs his name about 30 different ways including Papa, your spanker, your baby, Tasty lover, C. Michael, Carlton, hubby and more. Content covers every subject imaginable between a man on death row and his wife. Some topics are: wanting single edge razor blades, stealing white boys food, finding a large shank, shakedowns, homosexuals putting things up their butts, surgery, disciplinary reports, his guard being gay, inmate killing himself, inmates about to strike as man on death row is murdered, wants to sell his watch, ring and cross being afraid of being murdered and so very much more. There are surprises like legal letters and more. Most if not all of Gary’s letters include the original envelope which basically contains two of his full signatures.
