CAMPBELL, Malcolm (1885-1948). Internationally famous English record pioneer. First auto land speed record of 146.16 mph in 1924. Broke his record 8 times to 301.13 mph in 1935. On September 3, 1935, in Utah, he was the first person to drive an automobile over 300 mph. He set water speed records 3 times. He was Knighted by King George V at Buckingham Palace on Feb. 21, 1931. Fine three word sentiment signed in full and dated “4 February 1935” on the letterhead of The Clarendon in Daytona beach, Florida.
