CAGNEY, James (1899-1986). American film actor. Winner of the Academy Award. Best known for his tough guy roles. Very rare autograph letter signed on the imprinted stationery of his farm in New York State. One and a quarter pages, Oct. 11, 1966. To Mr. Bean, Cagney writes in part: “Your letter made the rounds before it caught up with me here. That is not unusual as Mrs. C and I have been away much of the time. I’m pleased to hear you have maintained a constant faith in your ability to get well. I’ve seen a goodly number of people who have had remissions, who never accepted their illness and came thru because of their faith and a desire to go on. I must agree with them because they are living proof of what faith can do...” Signed “Jim Cagney” with a wonderful large signature................ $375.00
