Very Scarce Signatures of Vaudeville black dancers "Buck & Bubbles" BUBBLES, John W. (1902-1986) African American vaudeville dancer and singer. Buck played the piano and Bubbles tap danced. They were the first black artists to perform at Radio City Music Hall. Bubbles performed in Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess. In 1920, Bubbles gave tap dancing lessons to Fred Astaire. Michael Jackson admired Bubbles dancing and studies his steps. Jackson named his pet Chimpanzee Bubbles. Yellow album page signed “Buck & Bubbles” by the hand of John W. Bubbles.
