Established Florida Airways Corp. which later became Eastern Airlines
Last Surviving American Ace from WW1

BROOKS,  Capt. Arthur Ray.  (1895-1991).  American fighter pilot in WW1. Flew with the 139th and 22nd Sqdn/2nd Pursuit Group/AEF in France.  Ace, credited with 6 victories. Brooks took on a squadron of German Fokker planes, single handedly and downed 5 of them in one aerial combat.  Brochure of the Smithsonian Air & Space museum in Washington, DC. On the cover is a portrait of Brooks bi-plane. At the top of the brochure, Brooks has written: “For J.T.B., Ray Brooks, 26/3/86”. In fine condition
