Extremely RARE signature of F.P. Blair
BLAIR, F.P. (1791-1876). Publisher, established the Washington, D.C. Globe in 1830. One of the leading members in Andrew Jackson’s Kitchen Cabinet. Founder of the Congressional Globe now known as the Congressional Record. The Congressional Record is where the daily proceedings of Congress is recorded. Blair is one of the founders of the Republican Party and presided over the First National Convention in 1856. In 1836, he purchased what is known as The Blair House. It later became the temporary home for President Harry Truman during the remodeling of The White House. Choice signature “F.P.
