The Brain of the Great Train Robbery
BIGGS, Ronnie (1929-Dec.18, 2013). Notorious British criminal who became known as “The Brain of the Great Train Robbery.” The robbery was of a Royal Mail Train traveling from Glasgow to London. The robbery netted about $4 million dollars which is about $65 million today. Biggs escaped from prison and evaded Scotland Yard for over 3 decades. The robbery is most likely the most famous in British history. Biggs lived in Brazil for many years never answering any of his fan mail. Excessively rare autograph letter signed, one full page, 2nd March ’93. Biggs writes: “Dear Steve, I’m glad to say the Postal Service has returned to normal. I received the photographs yesterday, so I hope this is fast enough! Keep the material coming-I’m not tired yet!! Best regards! Your friend Ronnie Biggs. P.S.
