BIGGS, Ronnie (1929-Dec.18, 2013). Notorious British criminal who became known as “The Brain of the Great Train Robbery”. The robbery was of a Royal Mail Train traveling from Glasgow to London. The robbery netted about $4 million dollars which is about $65 million today. Biggs escaped from prison and evaded Scotland Yard for over 3 decades. The robbery is most likely the most famous in British history. Biggs lived in Brazil for many years never answering all his fan mail. Original sketch of the mail train by Ronnie Biggs.
