BERNERS-LEE, Tim (1955- ). English computer scientist who created the World Wide Web. Knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2009.
GORE, Al (1948- ). 45th Vice president of the United States. Actor. Recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (2007). The World Wide Web is credited by many scholars as the beginning of the Internet. Al Gore stated “During my service in the United States Congress I took the initiative in creating the Internet.”
