BEAUREGARD, P.T.G. (1818-1893). Confederate Major General who initiated the attack on Ft. Sumter which started the Civil War. Beauregard also led with great distinction at the First Bull Run, Shiloh and in the defense of Richmond. Autograph letter signed, one very full page, no date, to Dear Mrs. Hise. Beauregard writes: “Tuesday, A.M. I send you with pleasure my (?) seats (2) at the French Opera for tonight. I regret only that I cannot offer to accompany you, owing to my ‘grippe’, although I am much better. Should you not be able to go, please give them to some of your friends-with my kind regards to Miss Rasa. I am your friend, G.T. Beauregard”. In excellent condition.....................SOLD
