BARROW, Edward G. (1868-1953). American manager and executive in Major League Baseball. He led the Boston Red Sox to a World Championship in 1918. He left the club to become business manager of the Yankees when the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to New York. The Yankees won 14 pennants and ten world series. Less than three months before his passing, he was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Bank check, Rye National Bank, Rye, New York, June 4, 1952.
