ARMSTRONG, Robb (1962- ) African American cartoonist, painter and musician. His comic strip Jumpstart is the most widely syndicated daily strip by an African American in the world. At the age of three he admired and befriended Charles Schulz. He popularized the term “Couch Potato.” He eventually teamed up with Schulz to help young black creators access to the comic industry. Jumpstart strips appear in 300 papers. The main characters are Joe and Marcy. On a large card measuring 8.5”x10.5” the artist has drawn his main characters adding “JUMPSTART by Robb Armstrong.” One little crease at top right corner otherwise in fine condition.
