ARGENTO, Dominic (1927- ) One of the founders of what is now known as Minnesota Opera. Newsweek referred to the Twin Cities as “Argento Town”. He wrote 14 operas and 2 ballets. One of his prominent pieces is “From the Diary of Virginia Wolff” which earned him the Pulitzer Prize for Music (1975).
