The Man Who Brought Hebrew To The Palestine Telegraph System
AMIKAM, Israel Haifa lawyer who fought almost single handedly to introduce Hebrew characters into the country’s Palestinian telegraph system. He was successful on January 1, 1935. In 1920, Hebrew was recognized as the country’s third official language. Israel Amikam and his colleagues developed a Hebrew telegraph code.
