Very Scarce A.L.S. Inventor of Cordite, replaced gunpowder
ABEL, Sir Frederick Augustus (1827-1902). British chemist, inventor of cordite, author of works on explosives. Autograph letter signed, 2 pages, Athenaeum, Pall Mall, 28 April 1883. To Sir Frederick Braby, thanking him profusely for his congratulations. Minor corner mountings otherwise near fine condition. Cordite was invented by Abel in 1889 which replaced gun powder for the military.................$185.00
