McCURTAIN, Green. (1848-1910). Born at Skullyville, Choctaw Nation. Son of Cornelius and Mahayia McCurtain. He attended common schools at the Nation. He served as Sheriff of Skullyville County, three terms as a representative to the National Council. Served two terms as Principal Chief beginning in 1896 and was reelected in 1902 where he served until his death on Dec.27, 1910. Partly printed bank check, American national Bank, Ft. Smith, ARK.
