The Society of American Magicians
ERNST, Bernard M.L. (1879-1938). American Magician; upon the passing of Houdini, Ernst served out the remainder of Houdini’s term as President of The Society of American Magicians. He was re-elected President. Ernst delivered the graveside memorial eulogy on the one year anniversary of Houdini’s death when Houdini’s monument was erected. Ernst authored two books on Houdini and was the owner of Houdini’s private papers and correspondence. Ernst had given over 50 magic performances. Very scarce autograph letter signed, one page on the letterhead of The Society of American Magicians, Bernard M.L. Ernst, President. March 1, 1937, Ernst writes several lines responding to an autograph request.
