Rare Signature of Carlos Manuel DeCepedes as President
Held the Office of President for only three weeks
DeCESPEDES, Carlos Manuel (1871-1939). President of Cuba. Lived in Germany and Paris. In 1895 he returned to Cuba and from 1895 to 1898 he fought in the War of Independence. During this time he became a Lieutenant Colonel. In 1933, president Gerado Machado left Cuba and Cespedes was offered the position of President. He took the office on August 12, 1933. On September 6, 1933 a revolution took place and Batista demanded Cespedes to resign. Fabulous and rare presidential card with the raised Cuba’s National Seal at the top left corner. Hand signed with a very scarce full signature of Carlos Manuel DeCepedes. The first presidential card signed by Decepedes that we have seen. In near fine condition...........................$475.00
